Oh well, what’s a couple of years between cousins.

I got my information about the incident from a magazine article, found in my research, several years ago. From the way John R acted , I’m sure he decided he would be better off a few hundred miles away from his wife. Elizabeth, from my experience and education was probably manic/depressive. I base my opinion on degrees in criminal justice administration, corrections, and a minor in abnormal psychology. I also base it on a near 30 year career in law enforcement, including homicide investigation. This is not to brag, just giving you background.

Henry Lyda & Nancy are my 2nd G-grandparents. As I suppose you know, my 3rd G-grandfather was John Jackson, b-1784. I have been trying for 30 years or so to discover his parents. So far, no good. I’ve been a cold case investigator and this is the hardest case I’ve ever tackled

If you don’t know of Henry L & Nancy’s trip to Texas, and Nancy’s subsequent death, let me know. I’m happy to fill you in.

All that said, I truly believe that grandmother Elizabeth’s death was probably justifiable homicide.

My email is edwinrjackson@gmail.com Please use it for correspondence, that way it won’t be years before I find you again. Always glad to share information.

By the way, I’m retired now but Phoebe and I still ranch about 25 miles outside Tulsa.Edwinrjackson @gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13670388156708132264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4036418875548944296.post-79354089807089478822021-01-28T20:05:47.835-08:002021-01-28T20:05:47.835-08:00I’ve just now seen your response to me. John & Elizabeth are my maternal...Hello cousin! John & Elizabeth are my maternal fourth great grandparents which means there would be a generation in age difference between us. Which of Henry & Nancy Holland Jackson's descendants are you? Some of what you said I have heard before, but not the part about Julia's final moments. I'm sure Elizabeth was a product of her time & upbringing, but that doesn't excuse her behavior. Like you say, she may also have had mental health issues that they didn't know about back then & which might would be hard to prove in our present day & time, but it sounds like she definitely had a screw loose somewhere. I'm saddened on both counts; both that Julia met the end she did for the reasons she did & that Elizabeth was the way she was for whatever reason she was. The times she lived in were not any easier than the ones we live in now.

I'm so glad to hear from you cousin & I'm looking forward to hearing more about you & your side of the family tree soon. Thanks for dropping me a line!thepastln@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14530008387516053617noreply@blogger.com
